Last week, our team had the incredible opportunity to attend the IUFRO World Congress 2024 in Stockholm, one of the world’s most influential gatherings for forestry research and policy. Hosted by the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) and the City of Stockholm, the event brought together experts, scientists, and leaders from across the globe to discuss the future of forests and their role in shaping sustainable societies.
We are very proud to have participated in the congress and excited for the opportunity to showcase our drone at the expo, which led to many interesting conversations with forestry professionals from all over the world. The highlight of our week was the chance to present AirForestry to His Royal Highness The King of Sweden and demonstrate why we represent the future of forestry with our non-invasive land management operation.
A Focus on the Future: Forests and Society Towards 2050
The central theme, ”Forests and Society Towards 2050”, resonated with us as it touched on critical topics like sustainable forest management, climate resilience, and the development of a bioeconomy that balances environmental and societal needs. With forests being crucial in mitigating climate change and maintaining biodiversity, we were eager to dive into these discussions and explore how AirForestry could align with various climate goals and the ideas presented. Our team also appreciated listening to climate experts and scientists presenting their research, as well as diving deep in each Q&A that followed.
Connecting with Experts and Researchers
One of the great benefits of attending IUFRO 2024 was the opportunity to network and engage with international forestry experts. The congress fostered an environment where we could share insights, ask questions, and build connections with others working towards similar goals. From policymakers to fellow business leaders and researchers, the diversity of perspectives was invaluable. Not to mention that we had a great time from the beginning if the congress to the very end.
Reinventing Forestry
Our participation at the IUFRO World Congress 2024 was not just an educational experience—it was a catalyst for new ideas. The insights we gained will undoubtedly be part of our internal discussions on how to develop sustainable forestry solutions. We look forward to connecting with the global community in the future and continue to work with the long-term vision of a sustainable and resilient future for forests.
Thank you IUFRO 2024 for an incredible week!
