We harvest from the air and leave the ground untouched
When managed, forests are one of the world's most scalable carbon sinks
A well-managed forest stores more carbon, has increased growth, and handles climate stress better. With our autonomous electric multi-drone system, we harvest trees from the air, without touching the ground: no soil damage, no damages on roots, no compaction, no limits on terrain or weather. For the first time, large-scale, non-invasive forestry that builds more resilient and productive forests is possible through AirForestry.
Thinning from the air is changing forestry
Efficient, non-invasive, electric forestry
0 soil damage
Since the drones operate from the air, there is no soil compaction, no root damage, and no machine tracks left in the stand.
20 Mt CO2
By thinning forests with our method, the forest has the potential to sequester up to 20 million additional tonnes of carbon per year – in Sweden alone.
100% electric
Our drones and harvesting tool run entirely on electricity.
Thinning today
Two 20 tonnes machines to pick 80 kg trees
Thinning today means sending two heavy machines into the stand: a harvester and a forwarder, each around 20 tons. They need logging trails roughly four meters wide, running through the entire stand every 20 meters. That amounts to approximately 20% of the forest cleared before a single thinning tree has been removed. On wet and soft ground, the damage from the heavy machines is especially severe and can suppress growth for up to a decade. In the most difficult terrain, these machines cannot get in at all.
Thinning tomorrow
AirForestry works above the terrain, not through it
A six-meter autonomous electric drone flies over the stand, selects the right tree, and harvests it — without touching the ground. No logging trails. No ground disturbance. No terrain it cannot reach.
Multiple drones work simultaneously from a single base.
The result: more than 8% increased forest growth, healthier soil, and stands that are significantly more resilient to storms and other stresses.
A new standard for sustainable forest management
The future of forestry operations begins here
Forests are the world’s most scalable carbon sink, but only if they are managed. With an autonomous electric multi-drone solution, we make that possible at scale, with lower environmental impact than ever before. With our technology, we can build healthy, resilient forests, for the benefit of the climate, forest owners, and future generations.
